Just to make sure that our fabulous meal at The Entrance Lake House was not a fluke, we returned on Saturday. The pork belly was almost as good as before (the crackling not as perfect as 2 weeks ago but still very good indeed), the steak tender if, I think, a little over for a rare (Mr C was happy anyway though) and my duck, with its nasty mushrooms substituted for potatoes….well, it wasn’t bad. Quite plain – I longed for a hint of star anise – but reasonably well executed. Not over cooked. Bit of a hint of old fat about the potatoes, causing me to leave them, but only a small complaint. And the Rabbit Tea was sampled!
